WONDERLAND Beginner Guide: First Escape
This page is the first-run checklist. What the game is, who made it, and mode status: Game Overview. Level order after you can hit a quota: Levels 1–8.
Start on Easy / First Words. WONDERLAND is a five-player co-op escape game, not the locked Story Mode from the trailers. Each run is a sequence of playground levels: collect Lumins, convert them into Tickets, reach the train, and get out before Wonder arrives.
Confirm you are on the ScaryPlay experience at roblox.com/games/13718567207/WONDERLAND. Copycat places showed up at launch.
Before you start
- Join the ScaryPlay Roblox group for the advertised in-game rewards.
- Turn graphics up and use headphones. The official listing warns about flashing lights, loud noises, and jumpscares.
- Pick Easy (First Words) until you know the loop. Medium is First Steps, Hard is Big Kid, Nightmare is Fearless Child.
- Play with a group if you can. Runs support up to five players; a Roblox server can hold 30, but that is not your escape party.
The loop that actually wins runs
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Pick up glowing Lumins around the map. |
| 2 | Give Lumins to Zippy so the backpack points you toward the train. Zippy wants Lumins and will show you a way out. |
| 3 | Feed extra Lumins to Wormy — spin the red button — to convert them into Tickets. |
| 4 | Spend Tickets in Wonder's shop and keep enough to pass the train quota. |
| 5 | Board the train before the timer ends. Repeat through later levels until the finale. |
Ticket quotas scale with party size and go up as you climb. Community beginner coverage describes 200-Ticket stage gates; treat the in-run counter as the real target.
Split Lumins on purpose. Dumping everything into Wormy leaves Zippy unpaid. Feeding everything to Zippy can leave you short of Tickets. Convert enough for the quota, then keep a stash for pathfinding.
Starting kit
You already spawn with four tools. Do not buy replacements for these on your first run.
| Item | Role |
|---|---|
| WonderLite | Flashlight. Later skins come from Wonder Eggs. |
| HealthBox | Shared team lives. When it empties, the run is over for everyone. |
| Backpack | Carry the items you pick up or buy. |
| Wander Doodle | Map. Doors with no path behind them are fake. |
Survival rules for the first hour
- Lives are shared. A teammate dying costs the group, not just that player. Heal with a Bandaid or Bandaid Box instead of pushing a doomed fight.
- Sprint drains stamina; walking restores it. Emptying the bar in a chase is a common wipe.
- Slide to break line of sight and to dodge Titjack grabs.
- If something grabs you, mash E. Titjack, Ballerina, and Jester all use grab or pin prompts rather than an instant kill.
- Check the map before opening a door. Rabbit hides behind fake doors, jumpscares you, and chips health.
- Do not stare at Owl or Balloon Head. Owl draws a gun; Balloon Head turns your head into balloons.
- Leave Gnome alone. Contact turns it into a spider that kills on touch.
- When the timer hits zero, Wonder hunts the lobby. Look for the top-hat escape in front of the shop instead of hiding in a corner.
First shop buys
Tickets also have to cover the train, so do not empty the wallet on weapons.
| Priority | Buy | Cost | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Keep the free map | 0 | Fake doors and train routing. |
| 2 | Stopwatch | 80 Tickets | Delays Wonder. Cheapest high-impact buy. |
| 3 | Wonder Dust | 150 Tickets | Speed burst for chases and the train sprint. |
| 4 | Bandaid | 110 Tickets | One shared-life save. |
| Later | Hammer | 450 Tickets | Needed for the final encounter. |
| Skip at first | Minigun | 1,000 Tickets | Strong, but loud and expensive. |
Full prices and loadouts are on the Store guide.
Codes and lobby currency
Gems are a lobby currency. They do not pay the in-run shop. Redeem codes under Shop → Codes, then spend Gems on Wonder Eggs for flashlight skins.
The launch code RELEASE26 still grants 100 Gems. See WONDERLAND Codes. Skin odds: Wonder Egg Calculator. Badge progress: Badge Checklist.
Common first-run mistakes
- Playing a copycat experience that is not ScaryPlay.
- Opening Nightmare on the first session.
- Ignoring Zippy and wandering until Wonder arrives.
- Opening unmarked doors.
- Looking at Owl or Balloon Head “to see what happens.”
- Saving Tickets for the Minigun instead of Stopwatch, Dust, and the train quota.
- Treating Story Mode as playable. Levels Mode is what is live; Story Mode is still locked.
